I walked along where the ocean meets the land
at least where it’s visible to me
and I drew out my angst with my toes in the sand watched waves clear it and wrote it again
and moved on
And the waves fell hard on the shore
brought cold winds to chill the core
so I drank some wine and I tried to forget
I put more clothes over ones that were wet
and I moved on, I tried to keep the same face on it’s getting cold
So I threw my sadness in the sea
hoping it’d wash away like sand
but being underwater makes it harder to breath
where does sadness go when it’s got no way to leave? So I moved on
Chorus
I walked along where the ocean meets the land
at least where it’s visible to me
and I drew out my angst with my toes in the sand
watched waves clear it and wrote it again
